50 Million Year Old Eocene Era Fossil Fish Mural in Stone, from Wyoming
This exquisite piece of natural history makes an incredible statement and works beautifully with design styles ranging from traditional to modern. This sculptural fossil mural is populated with a beautiful array of fossil fish from the Green River Formation: one Notogoneus osculus, three Diplomystus dentatus, one Phareodus testis, and seven Knightia eocaena. These are all Eocene era fossils dating back about 50 million years. These ancient fish are forever preserved in a beautifully textured matrix of natural, fossil-bearing limestone.
The mural measures approximately 3.3 feet x 6.8 feet. It is fully backed with wood, and the irregular outline highlights the natural concept of this work of art. The mural has a built-in French cleat, which allows for an easy installation.
